First I need a good photo to work from. The head is important, as I can make the rest up! Of course I need information about job and or hobbies and body type and any special wishes.

I start with an actual size sketch which I then cut up to make a paper pattern. I draw around the shapes onto 3 and 4mm primed hardboard. The next stage is cutting and drilling and then the pieces are painted. Finally the puppet is put together and varnished! It takes me about 10 to 13 hours to complete one from start to finish.
